St. Augustine is the longest continually inhabited European-founded city in America, and was the Spanish capital of Florida for 200 years. At the top end of the market, there are a handful of properties fetching prices over $2 million, while in the upper regions of $600,000 to $800,000 there are some beautiful beachfront single family homes available. Buyers can buy a three bedroom single family with direct beach access for around the $500,000 mark, or two bedroom ocean view townhouses—a stone’s throw from the sand—start at an affordable $240,000.
Away from the water, it’s possible to get a four bedroom pool home for around $220,000. Decent condos are available in beachfront developments starting at $110,000 for a one bedroom. Elsewhere, off the water, condos can be snapped up from around $60,000 in nice developments. The condo market doesn’t have a huge amount of inventory, and there isn’t much choice for super luxurious top end condos, the most expensive are around $700,000 in St. Augustine.
